About the author:
Mr. Cernos is a senior citizen, retired
after thirty plus years as a Rehabilitation Counselor
and Therapist. Along his journey down the highway of
life he has dwelt in many houses, and assumed many
identities: draftsman, husband, father, born-again and
then unborn again Christian, Air Force Sergeant, and BA
in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Hawaii, graduate
work in Philosophy, vocational rehabilitation counselor,
therapist, physical fitness instructor, divorced,
amateur actor and playwright, MFA Brooklyn College in
Play Writing, and husband once again.
Madmen, pets and women have taught the
author more about compassion then all
the brilliant psychologist and psychiatrist. From his
patients he realized that insanity, psychotic fantasies,
are sometimes the only escape from a psychotic world
that has lost its spiritual roots. His patients’ gentle
souls were no match for a cruel competitive world that
places success above love, wealth above humility, and
judgment above compassion.
Though the author has at numerous times
attempted to make “repairs” to society, he has grown
weary at man’s inhumanity to man and the use of religion
to justify the cruelest behavior ever conceived by the
intellect. The author has turned to writing as a means
of reaching those souls like himself who seek to undo
the religious bigotry that is threatening the
environment and the lives of those most vulnerable.
